The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) was formally established in Jamaica in 1923 with its first home at Montague house situated in Kingston.

Mission Statement
The YWCA of Jamaica as a member Association of the World YWCA exists for the promotion of the well-being of women and girls in all aspects of their lives and works to unite them in a worldwide Christian fellowship which seeks fullness of life through physical, mental, social and spiritual development and through service to others and the nation.

Motto
The motto of the YWCA is - "BY LOVE SERVE ONE ANOTHER"
