Jamaica Tae-Kwon-Do Association

Objectives of the Association
1. The Association's First Objective will be to perpetuate training in the martial art taekwon-do throughout Jamaica. This Objective will entail the establishment of training schools or classes in communities throughout the island, and the provision of qualified Instructors sanctioned and authorized by the Association to operate these schools and classes. This Objective will also entail the Association planning and implementing promotional events and activities aimed at increasing awareness of and interest in TaeKwon do, for example, tournaments, training seminars, demonstrations, motivational lectures, etc.

2. The Association's Second Objective will be to maximize the potential of every Student enrolled and training in every school and class established by the Association, through the diligence, commitment and integrity of each school's and class’ Instructor. Maximization of each Student's potential will entail instruction and training of the highest order, continually enhancing and improving the student's physical and mental abilities; and emphasizing the tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit within a disciplined training environment that nurtures personal development, cultivates harmonious inter-relationships between Students and Instructors, and encourages social responsibility.

3. The Association's Third Objective will be to maximize the potential of every Instructor and Black Belt in every school and class established by the Association. This will entail, where feasible, full or partial sponsorship, or mandatory or conditional requirement of attendance by Instructors and Black Belts to International Instructors Courses, or to other educational courses or programs, tournaments or other competitions, where appropriate and relevant. The Association will endeavor to ensure that all its Instructors are highly qualified martial artists and professional teachers of TaeKwon do.
