To commemorate the 20-year milestone of Caliban’s Reason, the Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy and the Joint Institute of African and Diaspora Studies, University of the West Indies and University of Lagos, in partnership with the Departments of Africana Studies of Brown University, the Department of Philosophy, University of Connecticut and the Department of Philosophy, Towson University, Maryland are organizing an interdisciplinary Conference on Caliban’s Reason in March 19-22, 2020 to provide the space to institutionalize the preparation of future scholars and researchers in Caribbean and Global African Intellectual traditions, while also providing a unique avenue for scholars and researchers to present scholarly essays, exhibitions, as well as showcase talents in all areas of the Caribbean and Global African humanities. Panel Discussions are encouraged, to brainstorm on various aspects of the task of ensuring the survival and propagation of Caribbean, African, and African Diaspora Philosophies globally. Persons interested in organizing panels are encouraged to provide a summary of the panel, panellists, relevance to the Conference, the Caribbean intellectual traditions, Global Africa and Diaspora, and overall contribution to the development of these intellectual traditions globally.
