Hundreds of engineers from across the Caribbean and Latin America will gather in Montego Bay Jamaica, for the 2017 CARILEC Engineers Conference from July 23rd to 28th. The conference is organized by the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC) under the theme "Re-engineering Our Energy Future: The Utility in a Disruptive Age", this year's conference will look at the changes in the energy industry, and the opportunities presented by these changes.
The conference is open to engineers, utility workers, petroleum dealers, industry professionals, as well as to vendors wishing to showcase new technologies, goods and services applicable to the utility sector.
The annual Engineers Conference is the preeminent engineering conference for the utility industry in the region. It has been organised to give participants significant technical training and exposure to the latest developments and innovative practices in engineering, through sessions delivered by experts in the industry. The Conference will be of great interest and value to all participants who want to gather valuable insights on the utility engineering industry.
The conference will feature a combination of presentations, panel discussions and open sessions, covering a wide range of topics, including emerging trends in power generation, smart grid engineering, security plans for protecting the grid, and the re-tooling of workers for the utility of the future.
